Bonjour, Namaste & Hello!
Hope you’re all enjoying the spring sunshine (or I sincerely hope it is there soonest) 🙂
Let me introduce you to – AMSTERSWEATER, which is the name of this sweater/jumper that I refashioned a couple months ago. Using pretty much the same materials and methods that you saw here but in a completely different way!
The inspiration for this idea comes from here.
I often have to draw my ideas on paper once I draw them in my mind. It’s just that it gives me a more practical idea of what’s really possible and plausible and also for measurements sake. You see I don’t draw like a fashion student as my drawing/sketching skills are limited to pictionary!

My jumper was only waist length so I set the pattern on waist or the border of the jumper.
I’ve cut my felt patches into blocks of 2 inches in length and 1/2-3/4 inches in width.

So yes, I had the idea in my mind when I bought this sweater in Tokyo.
It was only a matter of time before I found the prefect partner for the concept.

Totally delighted to have created this!

Grey isn’t a universal favourite colour but it looks great when worked well.

I’ll leave you here with what I always say…
Some nuggets, that you might like to know…
You can definitely use any other compatible fabric instead of felt for this which is slightly stiff &/or strong (eg: velvet, denim, leather, suede etc)
The self sticking patch sticks pretty well, it doesn’t come off simply by peeling it. It would certainly damage you material if you try to pull it off.
A gentle handwash is recommended for any kind of worked on jumpers, if you wish them to last longer than a season.
Measure and cut carefully or else undoing or redoing it would be tall order for anyone.
Happy crafting. Happy sewing!
Be back with more 🙂
Cheers! Always a pleasure to visit your place via this page.
Long time????
